Waredaca Fall Starter & Full Moon Farm Events
All in all it was a lovely weekend with everyone finishing top-5! Freyja will be heading off to her first “big” show at the Virginia HT so Waredaca’s combined test was the perfect prep run! This was quite the cap to the season for Ashley and Lux, it’s so nice to see their long-time partnership only getting stronger! Claire and her lovely new horse had a solid run at only their second show together and Katie capped off her and Jax’s ‘reunion tour’ with a solid run at Training. And April & Aurora (also in the video) had a great time at their first HT of the year after spending the year in the jumper ring!

Waredaca Classic Three-Day Event
🫶 Eventing truly takes a village and this weekend Waredaca Classic Three Day Event truly embodies that fact. The preparation of horse and rider, the dedication of owners, riders, family members, friends, volunteers, clinicians and organizers are all needed to pull it off… and what a weekend it was! Everyone involved was full of enthusiasm for the sport and for soaking up as much knowledge, experience and camaraderie as a person could in four days.
The competition was stiff and exciting but I believe the experience alone was well worth the all the effort for anyone who was able to take part. This is truly an experience that I believe should be a part of every event rider’s journey; helping to build a strong foundation not only for the actual riding experience that is gained but also a strong sense of responsibility to the horse’s wellbeing as well that of your fellow competitors.
I want to congratulate all of the enthusiastic participants who were full of curiosity and determination; some them long-time students, some smiling faces I met this weekend… EVERYONE did an amazing job and hopefully walked away with a new love and appreciation for their horses and our wonderful sport!
I would also like to add a very special congratulations to Emmy Kasley pictured with her amazing and supportive parents, who enthusiastically play an essential role. Emerson has worked so hard this last year to really forge a strong partnership with Vinny and they had a really stellar weekend!
10/20-23: Waredaca Classic Three-Day & Horse Trials (Laytonsville, MD)
* Emerson Kasley with Global Venture: 26th in Novice Three-Day

Peter Gray Clinic Schedule & Notes
Below is the FINAL schedule for October 9-10’s clinic with Peter Gray. While the riding slots are filled, we are welcoming auditors to the farm for the two days. To sign up to audit, please register via Strider.
When parking at the farm, PLEASE stay on gravel. All this rain has made for some squishy ground and we don’t want mud where there doesn’t need to be any. Also, while we loves dogs (and have plenty to prove it), please leave your own dog home for the day.

MDHT III & Area II Championships
Well done Julie & Emerson on surviving (and doing well!) in what we can only describe as EPIC rain this weekend!!
10/1-2: The Maryland Horse Trials III & Area II Championships (Adamstown, MD)
- Julie Augustine with Texas Riddle: 11th in Novice Championships
- Emerson Kasley with Global Venture: 4th in Jr. Open Novice
Old Tavern & Marlborough HT
The team had a great weekend between Old Tavern and Marlborough (this was Katie & Jax’s second win in a row!) Haley did a great job holding Brew’s hand through his first ‘big atmosphere’ show and Claire completed her first event with her new horse! AND while everyone else was out showing, Ray and Margaret took to the trails to explore the Patuxent River State Park down the road. Perfect barn family weekend!
9/25: Marlborough Starter Horse Trials (Rosaryville, MD)
- Katie Mayo with Mr. Mayhem: 1st in Novice-B
9/24-25: Old Tavern Horse Trials (The Plains, VA)
- Kelley with her own Valfreyja: 17th in Novice Horse
- Haley Miller with He’s True Brew: 11th in Sr. Novice
